RSVP Update from Linda Browning

I would like to say thank you to all our dedicated RSVP volunteers... Your  work is so valuable in so many ways!

Over the next several weeks I am going to be reviewing our volunteer and station files, so I may be calling on you to update your information; we like to keep our records as accurate as possible.  Also, we have gotten some nametags in - if you want or need one, just let me or your station manager know and I’ll get it printed up and out to you.

As of August 1st, we have two new volunteer stations added to the RSVP program: the Hurley Pride Committee and the High Desert Humane Society.  All residents of Hurley are invited to join the HPC and those who are 55 and over to register as RSVP volunteers.   There are a number of events coming up and they need folks who can give some time in their planning and execution.

The High Desert Humane Society has a number of volunteer opportunities.  They are especially in need of individuals who can spend a little time policing their grounds for windblown paper and other trash,  doing other light outdoor work and,  of course, animal care such as dog walking.

I will be profiling stations and listing volunteer opportunities monthly in this column.

I am always open to suggestions and feedback from all of you.  Please feel free to call me anytime, and if I’m out of the office, to leave a voice message for me, or pass along your comments through your station managers.

Thanks a million!

Linda
